The new Bulgari Hotel Beijing opened its doors in the heart of Beijing’s exclusive Embassy District.

Designed by architects Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, and crowning 7 years of meticulous construction works, the fourth jewel of the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts collection rises within the new Genesis Project, an oasis of tranquility that balances art and nature.

Celebrities, artists, designers and the high society of Beijing gathered to celebrate the hotel’s opening gala dinner hosted by Jean-Christophe Babin, Bulgari CEO and Antonio Saponara Bulgari Hotel Beijing General Manager.

Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito, Chef curator of the Il Ristorante concept for Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, created a special dinner for the occasion expressing his philosophy of simplicity and his original cuisine concept.

During the dinner in the magnificent ballroom, set with imperial tables decorated with flowers and candles, the Bulgari CEO JCB entertained the audience with a speech on the ancient-rooted relationship between Italy and China, followed by a delightful performance by the quartet LE DIV4S, who interpreted a selection of the best classic arias from Italian opera.

After dinner, an enthralling DJ set & saxophone live jazz session welcomed the guests in the intimate ambient of Il Bar & the Terrace till late night.

Among the invitees on hand were Bulgari brand Ambassador Shu Qi, Chinese actress and model Zhang Ziyi, while the VIP guests list included socialite Meng Guangmei, actors Zhu Xudan and Sun Jian, TV presenter Chen Luyu as well as artists Yan Pei-Ming and Irene Kung.

During today’s press conference to officially introduce the project at the presence of Silvio Ursini, Bulgari Group Executive Vice President, Architects Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, landscape designer Enzo Enea, chef Niko Romito, Antonio Saponara and artist Irene Kung, Jean-Christophe Babin unveiled the amazing portrait of Sotirio Bulgari, the founder of the Maison, that will be displayed in the lobby. The painting is by renowned contemporary Chinese artist Yang Pei-Ming who was attending the conference as well.

‘The opening of the first Bulgari hotel in China underlines the importance of this market for our Brand and it is a symbol of the fruitful dialogue between our two countries’ stated Babin.

Silvio Ursini, who succeeded him on stage, presented an overview on the BHR collection and commented as follows: “The Bulgari Hotel Beijing has been designed and built with the same spirit and attention to details that characterize all our properties. We firmly believe that the extensive use of precious materials, Italian marbles, wood details and fabrics, a combination of the best Italian residential furniture and Chinese meticulous craftsmanship, will honour the expectations of our customers.”
