Travelling to Vietmam for the first time is by the decision to learn the culture of a neiborhood country, of which the food is very well-known in Thailand. We decide to stay at Anatara Hoi An Resort due to admiration in the best hospitality experiences at every Anantara Hotels.
Very impressive look at first glance when arriving at Anantara Hoi An was the beautiful fascinating Colonial-Inspired buildings with the feeling of a warm place, of the luxuriously-charming hideaway Anantara Hoi An Resort, by the Thu Bon River. This location is in the historic port town, which made us felt very much in love with a home from home, by its balanced design of space with the green in the compound and the nice breeze from the river. The afternoon walk later on, let us realize that the resort is in close proximity to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An’s Ancient Town, and in easy reach to everything in need.
Anantara Hoi An Resort is with two and three storey buildings, reflecting Asian and French colonial architecture. The 94 rooms and suites are designed in a spacious split-level layout, a modern interpretation of Indochina’s colonial style, infused with Vietnamese elements. On the upper level, a luxury bedroom adjoins an attractive French-style mosaic bathroom with natural light. The open plan design creates free-flowing space, leading down to a lower lounge that opens onto a porch with comfortable daybeds, offering ideal spaces for relaxation overlooking a garden courtyard or the Thu Bon River, and makes the outdoor space of the room’s front terrace very comfortable for ones who are very fond of the river breeze and private opened-air area.
Quiet pool days could be very enjoyable in the idyllic healthy garden surroundings with a view of the river, with energising workouts in the glass-walled gym overlook garden landscapes. Spa time calls for a range of nourishing scrubs and wraps, plus heavenly treatments and rejuvenating facials, and indeed a time for beauty from within and out.
The resort brings Vietnamese culture to life in language, lantern making, painting and cookery classes, walking tour guide for local food tasting and a good walk to the ancient town area, where long colourful arrays of shops are there to drop by for Vietnamese coffee, hats and clothes. When the night comes, the lanterns add more vibrant colors to the ancient town, while the multiplied numbers of boats with lighted lanterns create the beautiful multi-colors floating dots on the small canal, attractive enough to draw the visitors to try floating on the small boats for half an hour, and become ones with the colourful light.
Food lovers are in for a treat with a variety of culinary choices to enjoy at Ananrara Hoi An. The Riverside is the resort's quintessential Vietnamese restaurant, serving classic dishes with traditional and modern twists. Lanterns offers a picture-perfect setting for breakfast as daily life goes by along the Thu Bon River. The Resort art space brings an entirely new concept to the destination as guests enjoy wood-fired pizzas, along with innovative cocktails, local craft beers and vintage wines, all surrounded by a selection of curated art pieces.
Vietnam’s first and only 3D food printer brings desserts to life through creative pictures and custom-made designs, all printed directly onto a plate. For those seeking a more intimate dinner setting, Anantara’s bespoke Dining by Design allows guests to custom-make all aspects of their perfect dining experience. Anyone wishing to try their hand at cooking themselves can join a Spice Spoons cooking class and learn the art of traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Younger guests are well taken care of in the resort’s Kids’ Club, which has games, toys and fun activities to keep all children entertained.
The day could be ended with a sunset cruise arranged for guests with snacks on board. The comfortable bedroom invites us back for resting overnight to start the next day with best taste breakfast, with nice varieties of food choices are arranged to fit international guests' favorites, or delicious local dishes to try for more. Hot and iced Vietnames coffee are served with condensed milk the Vietnamese way.
The days in Hoi An could not be perfect without the warm stay at Anantara Hoi An. Let’s this charming resort connect us to The Vietage luxury train trip to explore more of Vietnam to Anantara Quy Nhon Villa by the sea.
