Enjoy a collaboration dinner between the teams of Sühring and Blue by Alain Ducasse and Celebrate Blue’s first anniversary with a special menu on November 30th, 2020 at Blue by Alain Ducasse, ICONSIAM

Bangkok(17 Nov)– For one night only, Blue by Alain Ducasse has invited Thomas and Mathias Sühring to compose a dinner alongside Blue’s Executive Chef Wilfrid Hocquet and Executive Pastry Chef Maxou Boonthanakit. This dinner has been arranged to help celebrate restaurant's first anniversary.

The four have come together to showcase the best of their respective restaurants and create an unforgettable dining experience. The seven course tasting menu will be served exclusively for dinner on Monday 30th November at Blue by Alain Ducasse on the first floor of ICONSIAM.

Priced at 6,500 THB ++ the menu will start off with a selection of canape and amuses bouches from Sühring which currently holds 2 Michelin stars and is ranked 4th in the Asia 50 best restaurant selection. Before guests are treated to a rotation of dishes from Wilfrid Hocquet and then the twin brothers, the dinner will conclude with desserts and mignardise prepared by Maxou Boonthanakit the young pastry chef who won the “Eater Young Gun 2019“.

Amongst the highlights of the dishes to be served on the 30th will be Chef Wilfrid Hocquet's “Upside down Aged Comte Soufflé“ which features a delightful combination of three cheese before being finished by white truffle fresh from Alba. The Sühring brothers will be serving their signature duck which will be accompanied by Schupfnudeln a classic German dumpling famous in southern Germany. To conclude the menu Executive Pastry Chef Maxou Boonthanakit will refresh diners’ palates with a combination of fromage blanc and yuzu before finishing with Chocolate from the Alain Ducasse Manufacture in Paris paired with amarena cherries.

Blue by Alain Ducasse is the first restaurant in Thailand that the world’s most celebrated Chef Alain Ducasse opened under his name in November 2019. He is also the first chef in the world to ever have three restaurants awarded with 3 Michelin stars at the same time. The restaurant was recently awarded with a place in “Tatler Thailand's Top 20 Best Restaurants of 2020.”

German Twins Chefs Thomas & Mathias Sühring’s culinary journey began while spending their annual school summer breaks at their grandparent’s farm. At that time, they got introduced to old-school cooking techniques like fermentation, pickling, smoking, drying and curing which are rooted in the German tradition. Then they worked throughout Europe under iconic Three MICHELIN Star Chefs such as Sven Elverfeld at the Restaurant “Aqua”, Jonnie Boer at the Restaurant “De Librije” and Heinz Beck at “La Pergola” before moving to Thailand in 2008. Since March 2016, Sühring showcases the best of modern German fare inspired by childhood memories and family recipes. All elevated to the level of haute cuisine and combining the essence of traditional dishes with contemporary Central European influences. All of these qualities have helped Sühring to hold two Michelin stars since the 2019 guide and currently place 45th in the The World’s 50 Best Restaurant.
