Bottega Veneta has partnered with Palazzo Grassi Punta della Dogana Pinault Collection to support ‘Dancing Studies’, an exclusive set of performances by renowned choreographer William Forsythe, Lenio Kaklea, Ralph Lemon and Pam Tanowitz, inspired by the exhibition ‘Bruce Nauman: Contrapposto Studies’, on show until November at Punta Della Dogana.
The costumes for the performances by choreographers Lenio Kaklea and Pam Tanowitz are specially designed by creative director Matthieu Blazy.
This partnership was celebrated with an intimate dinner that took place on Thursday, 21 April, that opened with a performance by Lenio Kaklea. Guests include prominent figures of the art community, as well as actress Julianne Moore, who was seen sporting different styles of Matthieu’s first bag for Bottega Veneta – the Kalimero.
The partnership with Palazzo Grassi Punta Dogana Pinault Collection is just one of the initiatives from the house to strengthen itself with the rich cultural history of Italy, and celebrate its roots and Venice as a global cultural hub. While Veneto, the region, is the birthplace of Bottega Veneta, Venice, the city, is in many ways the spiritual home of Bottega Veneta, in that it is where the first store was opened, and it is a city that represents a lot of what the brand stands for – duality. Be it tradition with contemporary, or local relevance with global impact.
Bottega Veneta has also just launched a capsule collection inspired by iconic Olivetti typewriters – the Cabat Olivetti Capsule Collection. Available exclusively at the Bottega Veneta store in Venice in limited quantity, the Cabat takes inspiration from Olivetti’s most renowned product, the Lettera 22 typewriter – from the colourways to dimensions and proportions of the bag. The Cabat is designed in four different colourways which were typical colours used on typewriters in the 1940s, beautifully contrasting the black handle of the bag. It also features a distinctive red enamel loop that is reminiscent of the signature red key of the Olivetti typewriters.
The campaign imagery was shot at the iconic, historic Olivetti showroom designed by architect Carlo Scarpa, by photographer Francois Halard. One of the most globally-recognised interior design and architecture photographers, Francois Harlard’s eye is known to add another layer of artistry to the spaces he captures. In the spirit of this partnership, to support the continuous preservation of this historic Olivetti Showroom (Negozio Olivetti), Bottega Veneta has made a donation to Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI).
Ever since the house was established in 1837, Hermès has always sought to preserve the artisanal dimension of its manufacturing, which is a source of durability, creativity, agility and innovation.
The multiform universe of the Maison is composed of infinite constellations. They are the clothes of past collections. Ever-changing, in constant motion, yet almost eternal. Valentino Vintage is the first journey through these collections, now recognized, redefined, reinterpreted.
