Optimism, lightness. This collection expresses a heartfelt desire for oxymorons and sophistication, contrasting materials, and superimposed elements tumbling after each other.

The designs – hybrid, reversible – accompany each of life’s moments with joy and softness, effervescence and elegance. Light shoots through them before obliterating itself easily, obliquely. Something dandy-like this way comes: a goldenbrown gloss, a touch of velvet, wavy lambskin, a technical fabric, chevron patterns… A sharp eye is attracted to the colours: charcoal, brown, coniferous green, black, but also frost blue, pollen, pop orange, lettuce green. They bounce off one another, saturating and sometimes colliding. They seize the energy of the moment and the fluidity of passing time in the Réserve Perret of the Mobilier national.

This is why Véronique Nichanian and director Cyril Teste, a close partner of Hermès, set their sights on the tapestries conserved in this space of history and creation. But how does one go about breathing life into olden tapestries for a fashion show? By slowly transforming them, running them on a wall of screens where they change before our very eyes, rhythmically as it were, forward-moving models. They become part of the landscape in which the collection’s energy unfurls, and in which figures and clothing come into their own. Out of these original patterns surges the botanical, mutating little by little into a unique patina, while the collection appears.

In this decor, the clothes live, joyously. With lightness, light diffuses their energy. These moments fuse into the present, in the visuals of this very lively fresco.

COLOUR
