Sexiness, mystery and femininity are the three facets that give a woman more allure. This notion is seamlessly translated into SIRIVANNAVARI & S’Homme Automne-Hiver 2021/2022, named ‘The Other Side Of Midnight’. The Maison reinvents its iconic semi-couture structures with a touch of French mystique, for a hiver journey that is at once modern and refined. An ode to freedom, the charm of SIRIVANNAVARI illuminates winter with bold, sexy, charisma, and a fresh burst of Parisienne chic.
The story begins on a still, winter night in Paris, where a fierce lady emerges. Dressed in a leopard coat and faux crocodile leather top boots, she walks along Pont Neuf, by the banks of the Seine river, to Cheval Blanc hotel. She carries herself with an air of mystery, as if she wishes to be unnoticeable. Upon arrival, she takes off her coat, revealing her white satin bustier dress with black lace details. As she strides into Lim Bar, men turn their heads; captivated by her seductive charm. Created by H.R.H Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, the collection’s silhouettes are marked with the contrast of masculine and feminine accents, while refined styling adds a touch of female empowerment to the striking wardrobe.
In the words of H.R.H Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, the Creative Director of SIRIVANNAVARI, 9 A lace bustier dress is paired with a leather coat, or innerwear tailoring techniques are used on outerwear pieces, yet the collection still retains an elegant and sophisticated approach.”
“Signature silhouettes have been reanimated — identifiable, yet different every time — using luxurious and wintery materials such as tweed, Italian leather, brocade, duchess satin, and French feathers. The fascination of this collection distills elegance and the current youth, with designs that range from the leather biker jacket to the asymmetrical dress, the lingerie dress, a blazer with corset detailing, a satin evening gown with cut-out details, the new leopard print, and the Maison’s first ever ‘Lucky S’ monogram motif. On a separate note, some of the visuals in the advertising campaign were shot by myself,” said H.R.H Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.
The SIRIVANNAVARI and S’Homme Automne-Hiver 2021/22 collection features a total of 44 looks (33 womenswear and 11 menswear). The show commences with a selection of designs. A tweed cropped jacket; a tweed coat; faux crocodile leather biker pants; a leather biker jacket worn over a black lace blouse, with feather embroidery at the cuff and leather biker pants; a leather blazer, paired with a black lace bustier dress; a metallic tweed cocktail dress, with cut-out details and an asymmetrical hem; an asymmetrical draped evening gown in gold lamé; and a halter neck dress in white satin and lace, paired with long nappa gloves in red.
The spotlight shines on the marvelous embroidery, courtesy of the SIRIVANNAVARI Atelier and Academy. The exquisite craftsmanship of the Maison’s in-house workshop of couture embroidery is clearly visible, from the feather embellishment on the lace blouse, to the multicoloured beads, delicately embroidered upon the lime green cocktail dress.
As anticipated, graphic prints — a key element of the brand’s DNA — remain a highlight. Here, the Princess has created a signature print especially for the season, featuring a debut of the Maison’s monogram, named ‘Lucky S’. This print is incorporated throughout the collection, including ready-to-wear items such as blouses, pants and scarves. Moreover, the collection introduces a new leopard print collage and ‘S’ emblem, houndstooth details, and a leopard motif which can be seen in both ready-to-wear lines, and the scarves collection.
Highlighted is the Bijoux Collection which, inspired by the Princess’ personal illustrations and sketches, features a coin, clover leaves, a peacock, a bee, an eye, houndstooth, and the ‘S’ logo. The fashion jewellery collection embodies effortless grace and true individuality, evoking both the sensual curves of a woman, and a sense of fluidity. Key pieces include interchangeable chandelier earrings, adorned with baroque pearls and briolette crystal, a SIRIVANNAVARI mesh choker, bangles featuring bee and peacock motifs, loop earrings with a peacock emblem, a houndstooth ring, and a gold choker with coin pendants.
To complement and complete an everyday look, the collection also features Italian leather goods. This season’s signature bag takes on an edgy and elegant attitude, in the form of ‘the two-way carry bag’ — a bag that can be adjusted to function as both a handbag with a top handle, and a cross-body with an interchangeable strap, leather, and gold chain. In addition, another luxury item is a crocodile leather clutch in black, emerald green and camel; an ideal match for the new oversized belt, adorned with two ‘S’ buckles. The shoe collection offers two iconic styles, from faux crocodile leather top boots made with black, beige and camel, to crepe satin and crocodile leather stilettos featuring layered ‘S’ logo heels. In particular, this collection also includes nappa leather gloves in black, beige and red.
This season’s eyewear collection presents a striking new round-shaped and oversized frame, made using the finest acetate, with a peacock logo featured on the temple. The line of sunglasses is available in new four colours — Tortoiseshell, Smoky grey, Navy Blue and Bordeaux.
For S’Homme, the menswear collection celebrates the refinement of a gentleman. Essential patterns are drawn upon and given a modern, elegant, and casual twist. Details of Parisienne style are also incorporated here, as key looks include a faux crocodile leather blazer, a wool bomber in peanut brown paired with carrot pants; and a four-pocket safari jacket in navy blue, with drawstring detailing at the waistline. While sophistication dominates the collection, classic styles are redefined with a twist. An asymmetrical jacquard shawl collar suit —in grey, with a dash of cinnamon brown at the collar — is complemented with a winked collared crisp white shirt. Men’s leather goods are also featured, including lace-up shoes with the ‘S’ logo emblem; faux crocodile leather loafers in prune, latte brown and moss green, with a metal emblem featuring the Maison’s peacock logo, and a tote bag in black crocodile leather. This season’s collection offers a wide array of fashion items, ranging from turtleneck cashmere, nappa leather gloves, and rings, to collar pins, neckties and pin suits.
‘The Other Side of Midnight’, the SIRIVANNAVARI & S’Homme Automne-Hiver 2021/22 collections, are available at the SIRIVANNAVARI Boutique on the 1st Floor of Siam Paragon Shopping Complex.
