Diner 'Chopard Loves Cinema

A prestigious evening to unveil the Red Carpet Collection and celebrate 25 years of partnership between Chopard and the Cannes Film Festival

Saturday 21 May 2022 – Caroline Scheufele held a majestic dinner this evening at the Hôtel Martinez to celebrate the unconditional ties binding Chopard with cinema through 25 years of official partnership with the Cannes Film Festival. In tribute to the Maison's loyalty to the seventh art, 'Chopard Loves Cinema' is the theme of the Red Carpet Collection: 75 Haute Joaillerie creations freely inspired by the cinematic repertoire of Chopard's Co-President and Artistic Director, unveiled on the occasion of this event. Held in a splendid film studio setting, the dinner ended with an exclusive concert by Seal.

Caroline Scheufele invited her guests to the Hotel Martinez in Cannes for a prestigious dinner. Echoing the theme of the Red Carpet Collection, the décor for the dinner invited guests to take a journey through the grand history of cinema since its beginnings in black and white. Guests included Joanna Kulig, Daphne Patakia, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Yi Zhou, Fala Chen, Lee Jung-Jae, Kiera Chaplin, Natalia Vodianova, Poppy Delevingne, Adriana Lima et Andre Lemmers, Conor McGregor, Alejandro Nones, Geraldine Bazan, Jacky Ickx and Khadja Nin, Salma Abu-Deif, Tomek Kolarski, Diala Makki and Joelle Mardinian.

In a moving speech, Caroline Scheufele paid tribute to the 25-year partnership between Chopard and the Cannes Festival. It was in 1998 that the watchmaker-jeweller became associated with the world's greatest film event by proposing a new design for the Palme d'Or - the jury's highest distinction. "The Cannes Film Festival and Chopard have been working hand in hand for 25 years with a shared passion for the great stories that thrill fans of the seventh art. It is a beautiful, long-lived love story and I am proud to witness it."

The 75 creations of the Red Carpet Collection stemming from the jewellery expertise of the Chopard workshops were revealed during a stunning fashion show in which the brilliance of the precious stones matched the elegance of the dresses loaned by Elie Saab.

The dinner consisted of carefully selected dishes - Iced Cappuccino from Red Beet with crème fraiche a dollop of Beluga caviar, Sea Bass with passion fruit foam and Iced raspberry souffle – complemented by 2020 "Cadran Blanc" Chateau Monestier La Tour and 2018 "Raissennaz Grand Cru" Henri Cruchon wines.

Known for her legendary evenings studding the Cannes fortnight every year, on this occasion, Caroline Scheufele asked the artist Seal to give an exclusive concert including his greatest hits: Killer, Let’s Stay Together, Love’s Devine, Kiss from a Rose, Crazy and Knock on Wood. At the end of the performance acclaimed by the audience, DJ Rodge took over the turntables, keeping guests on the dance floor until the early hours.
