DOLCE&GABBANA | DGFATTOINCASA Supports AMORE FOR THE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

"Humanitas University pursues its engagement in the fight against Covid-19, and thanks to the partnership with Dolce&Gabbana our fields of research can be extended still further. At the moment we know very little about the immune responses against the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus that causes Covid-19: we do not know, for example, whether the antibodies are protective and how long the immunological memory lasts. We do not know whether our first line of defense (innate immunity which by itself manages and eliminates more than 90% of the viruses and bacteria we encounter) is effective and can be activated against Coronavirus. Thanks to the support of Dolce&Gabbana, research in Humanitas will continue to be focused on cells involved in innate immunity and on some of their molecules which behave as functional ancestors of antibodies. A better understanding of this field can pave the way to diagnostic interventions, such as disease severity biomarkers, and therapeutic approaches, thus contributing to the solution of a global problem".

Apart, but together - now closer than ever.
Dolce&Gabbana today unveils a new project named DGFATTOINCASA - “Made at Home” - that explores the shared experience of lockdown that has united us all. In a time when our values have slowed, shifted and deepened DGFATTOINCASA reveals the power of craft and creativity to articulate love, closeness and care – all rooted in the homemade artisan DNA of Made in Italy.

The heart of our story is in the home, presented as an ancient Italian “casa bottega” - “workshop” - in which tradition dictated that the magic of Fatto a Mano (handmade craft) was intimately intertwined with the warmth of family life. Dolce&Gabbana artisans and friends of the house will hold a series of digital workshops in which they invite us into their homes to share their skills and expertise, and to pass on ideas and suggestions for projects for you and your loved ones to Fatto in Casa.

As well as sharing the connecting force of handmade craft in the Italian tradition, DGFATTOINCASA fund raising project supports Fondazione Humanitas Per La Ricerca and it’s an extension of Dolce&Gabbana’s ongoing AMORE FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH project with Humanitas University. Founded in February with a significant financial contribution from the house, this project supports the vital research coordinated by Prof. Mantovani to clarify the responses of the human immune system to Covid-19.

DGFATTOINCASA is presented in partnership with ForFunding by Intesa Sanpaolo Bank. ForFunding is a crowdfunding platform for non-governmental and non-profit organizations and foundations that wish to start fundraisers involving a large community of active donors. Intesa Sanpaolo does not take any commission on donations, meaning that every euro donated will be paid in full to the projects, guaranteeing security and transparency.

#DGFATTOINCASA will run on Dolce&Gabbana social channels starting from May 6th.


AMORE for SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH Presented by Dolce&Gabbana in collaboration with Humanitas University

Dolce&Gabbana are working together with Humanitas University to strengthen their efforts toward scientific research benefitting global health.

To show their devotion to the cause, a new campaign is being launched that celebrates life and the beauty of Italy, starring actress Sofia Vergara, showcasing the iconic Devotion bag. A portion of proceeds from the sales of these bags through Dolce&Gabbana e-commerce will be donated to Humanitas University to aid their critical global health initiatives.

Thanks to their donation, a dedicated team lead by Professor Alberto Mantovani at Humanitas University, in collaboration with the virologists of Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, is working on an expansive research project studying the responses of our natural defenses to Coronavirus, in an effort to lay the basis for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Together we are working towards a resolution to this global problem.”
